From it's humble beginnings as a one night affair, the White House Correspondents' Association's annual dinner has grown into a nearly week long celebration of press, power players, celebrities and parties. A Politico reporter, Patrick Gavin, quits his job interviewing some of Washington's top policymakers and exposes a private world of excess and extravagance that is like nothing you'd ever imagine.

Mrs Foster, a retired lady whose cup is half empty, is starting chemotherapy and is understandably anxious. The last thing she needs, is to have to share the treatment room with a 'know it all child' who wants to grow up to be a lesbian. But through their unexpected friendship, Maisy Jones gives Mrs Foster much more than just a glimmer of hope.

Dick Romans is a washed up TV host whose wife walks out on him the day before their ten year anniversary celebration. Alone with his thoughts, his dog, and a ton of booze, Dick decides to go through with the week-long party... by himself. The seven event-filled days become Dick's reluctant vision quest, filled with odd characters, awkward romance, and some long-overdue self examination.

"The Week" tells the story, as the title suggests, of seven days. Each day has its own main character which is named after the day. There are seven different stories which are not connected to each other. Montag (Monday) is a young, hopeless man without a job. This monday he saves a woman from being raped... Dienstag (Tuesday) wants to run away from our hectic, commercial world and tries to find his way in the woods... Mittwoch (Wednesday) is a drug dealer who wants to do his last job... Donnerstag (Thursday) is homeless and lives on the street. All his hope is gone until a girl comes by... Freitag (Friday) works in a movie theater and secretly loves her co-worker Peter... Samstag (Saturday) is left by his girlfriend Gianna and now for the first time realizes how much he has loved her... Sonntag (Sunday) tells us what happened to the remaining characters and draws a conclusion...

Captain Murakami takes over as skipper of the Azuma Maru, replacing the well-liked former captain. Murakami forces the crew to work harder than they ever have, creating enmity and exhaustion. Just when the ship has taken a huge catch of tuna in its nets, Murakami learns that his ship is the only one in position to rescue the crew of another ship, sinking in a storm. He must choose between saving the catch or saving lives. Either choice may mean his ruin.

An unscrupulous businessman tries to win a government contract by playing up to the engineer assigned to review the project. He comes to the engineer's hotel room to offer him money, all the while secretly filming the proceedings with a hidden camera. Meanwhile the engineer, unhappily married to an alcoholic, uses the hotel room to continue his affair with the businessman's attractive young wife.
